Did You Know (12)?

January 21, 2015 in January 2015

The sea otter (Enhydra lutris) has more fur fibers per unit inch than any other animal. At 1,000,000 fibers per square inch and 800 million total, the otter relies on its dense fur rather than blubber to thermoregulate in the cold waters of the North Pacific.
